WordPress – Setting a Static/fixed Page

I have had one of my Hostgator referrals ask me how to Set up a welcome fixed page like MakeMoneyOnlineRush.com recently and I thought I should just make a simple tutorial.

If you notice whenever you visit MakeMoneyOnlineRush.com, the welcome aboard page is displayed instead of the recent posts. With WordPress you can assign pages to be front page and another page to display recent posts. I prefer this method because i like to welcome my visitors and explain what this blog is all about.

Its pretty simple first go to your WordPress dashboard scroll down till you see the settings menu and click on reading

you will be brought to a screen like below. Now to set up a static welcome page, you must first create a page and then select the radio button “static page” choose the welcome/front page you created. Also now chose the page you would like to display your recent posts, in the example below.

your done!
