Gravatars as the title of this topic simply means Globally recognized Avatars. My other website has been receieving quite a few comments and the one thing I realize is that, most do not yet have a Gravatar. Now what is a Gravatar you ask? Gravatar(Globally recognized Gravatars) is avatar or an image that is associated with your email. Taken Directly from http://en.gravatar.com/

Your Gravatar is an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things like comment or post on a blog. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums, so why not on any site?

Avatars are usually an 80px by 80px image, you are allowed to use any images you like. Having a Gravatar does give you a better identity online, when your commenting on blogs, having a display pic, makes you stand out than not having a gravatar. Most wordpress blogs by default uses the Gravatar image display. Below is a screenshot from my previous blog

o get your Gravatar you will need to create an account with Gravatar first.

Creating an account is very fast as the main details you’ll need is your email address. After uploading your desired avatar your done! (you can always change your Gravatar at anytime) Comments that were previously commented on other blogs with your email address will now be displayed with your Gravatar- The process takes about 20 – 30 mins though before it starts showing.

If your reading this, feel free to drop a comment but make sure you have created a Gravatar account.
